On Target Tree & Shrub Care

Certified Arborist With Tree & Shrub Care in Inverness, IL

Inverness’s older streets still carry the canopy that makes the village feel finished — oaks and maples around Baldwing Rd., mixed lots,, hedges along Ela Rd.. Those trees sit in clay, take road salt and pick up the same pests that moved through the rest of northwest Cook County....that's where our certified arborist service comes in.

On Target Tree & Shrub Care is the family-owned certified arborist company Inverness homeowners call when a large oak needs a real diagnosis, a maple is thinning, or the foundation beds have gone to weeds. We are based in Island Lake and work private property throughout Invernesss. Village crews handle parkway trees. We handle the trees and shrubs on your lot.

What Inverness Trees and Shrubs Deal With

An Inverness yard is not a generic “Chicago suburbs” yard. That's why calling a certified arborist can save you time and money.  Downtown and the older grid have mature oaks that are worth saving. Postwar streets have maples that scorch and drop early after a wet spring. Inverness and similar neighborhoods still show the hole emerald ash borer left. Lots near Salt Creek stay wet longer in April, which favors leaf disease.

We regularly diagnose and treat:

  • Oak wilt risk and decline on red and pin oaks
  • Apple scab on ornamental crabapples
  • Scale, aphids, mites, and boring insects
  • Winter burn on arborvitae screens and boxwood
  • Weeds taking planted beds by Memorial Day

Palatine also expects owners to deal with diseased or infested trees and shrubs once the Village gives notice — treat or remove, on a short clock. An inspection before that letter arrives is cheaper than scrambling after it.

Diagnostic Solutions

Certifed Arborist Services in Inverness, IL

Scientific diagnosis and targeted field applications built specifically for private residential properties.

Expert Inverness Tree Arborist

A walk of the property, not a spray-and-go. We evaluate vitality and flag structural risk on the trees that actually matter to the house — the front oak, the maple over the driveway, the birch that has been thinning for two seasons.

Shrub Care

Hydrangeas, boxwoods, lilacs, arborvitae hedges, and mixed foundation plantings — disease, insects, feeding, and winter anti-desiccant.

Plant Bed Weed Control

Spring pre-emergent with Snapshot, mid-season liquid cleanup, 14-day guarantee on the July visit. Built for mulched Palatine beds, not lawn weeds.

Disease & Insect Diagnosis

Organic and conventional options, chosen for the tree and the lot. Timing follows the pest and the Palatine calendar, not a generic route sheet.

Mosquito Control

Optional with plant-healthcare visits if the backyard is unusable after dusk.

Preservation Plans

If you are adding on, putting in a driveway, or opening a lot near a tree you want to keep, we plan protection before the equipment shows up. Teardowns and additions in older Palatine neighborhoods are where good trees get wrecked by accident.

Large Tree Care

Specialized programs for mature canopy trees, including maple, oak, and birch. Root feeding, targeted insect and disease work, and an honest call when treatment no longer makes sense.

Why Inverness Homeowners Call On Target

Certified arborist diagnostics — biology first, not a default removal.

Organic and conventional treatment options.

100% satisfaction guaranteed on the work we perform.

Inverness Tree Care FAQs

Do you take care of the parkway tree in front of my Inverness house?

Usually no. Parkway trees are Village of Palatine trees. We work the trees and shrubs on private property. If you are not sure which side of the sidewalk is yours, we will sort that on the inspection.

The Village sent a notice about a diseased or infested tree. Can you help?

Yes. Palatine can require treatment or removal on a short timeline once notice is given. Call as soon as the letter arrives. We will tell you whether treatment is still honest, or whether removal is the only option left.

Can you save a large oak tree on my property?

Often yes, if we catch wilt, borers, or construction damage early. A 70-year oak is worth an inspection. It is not always worth another year of product on a tree that is already structurally failed. That is the distinction a certified arborist is supposed to make.

Do I need to sign up for a year-long program?

No. Start with an inspection. Build a seasonal plan if the trees need one. Cancel later if you want. The guarantee still covers work already done.

How do I schedule service in Inverness?

Call (224) 671-9377 or use the contact form. Tell us the town and what you are seeing — thinning oak, scabbed crabapple, brown hedge, weedy beds — and we will set the inspection.

Schedule a Certified Arborist Inspection in Inverness

If the oak over the house does not look like it did three years ago, or the beds are losing to weeds every June, the next useful step is a walk of the property — not another product from the garden center.
